COMPOSITION 26

                                              ``TALES FROM THE SAHEL``

Composition 26 is inspired by the Sahel and the expression of its cultural scope. This body of work constitutes subjects that explore African cultural nodes, identities and stories. The collection highlights topics such as hair, tribal marks, dress codes, geographies and history as elements deciphered through the expressive priviledge of textile using the language of lines and colours.

Within the collection are concepts such as Cos-Sei that have become house codes exploring philosophy as a design study to understand life from an African perspective. The works embody an optimistic lens through which one can appreciate the beauty of the Sahel region through design and stories told through art as well as garments. The elements of the sun, water are explored through the semiotics of body forms and hues. This composition is rooted in a balance between research and artistic exploration.
