``THE NOMAD``
The Nomad is a visual tale centred around the human experience of motion and freedom. This composition explores the relationships that exist between humans, their sojourns across places and the search for peace. Despite the chaos of today`s world, humans always seek the attainment of peace. This solemn feeling is one pursued in thought, acts and behaviour. Man seeks this quietude and tries to embrace its abstraction even in real things.
Garments have always provided a sort of space where humans can dwell at ease while moving from one place to another. It forms a core aspect of our mobility and become references across various points in time. The materiality of garments wrapped around our bodies can offer us ease or add to our discomfort; further enhancing our inner feelings of chaos in a world that is in a constant state of flux.
The composition explores textiles and silhouettes that suggests and provides a sense of ease. They are designed to align with our search for freedom as we move and travel across places, territories and time. The compositions are inspired by a desire to explore, by research works around the continent of Africa from West to North, geometries; the mathematical artistry of lines and colours as well as dreamscapes. This composition is for those who see the world as one big home where their walks and journeys become imprints of time.
